Since 2013
A study of light that became a study of people
It began in 2013 as a lighting test. Somewhere along the way the people became more interesting than the light, and the project keeps growing. This year brought a highlight I'm proud of: Bridget, 88, won Beauty at the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards.
New this year: the people speak for themselves.
Ivvi, 2026. Colour, black-and-white film, interview.
Mia, 2026.

The best compliment
Scott Corbett came across the series on Trunk Archive and asked me to bring the same feeling to iiaa, with three faces from the project and Julie Jacobs on make-up. Still one of the nicest compliments the work has had.

Thirteen years, and counting.

They imagined a bar. We built it.
Scott Corbett and the grace & stella creative team dreamt up a Lip Butter Bar: a candy-pink hangout with a treat for every flavour. Art director Jen Ives and the team visualised it with AI. We built the real thing, then shot the campaign in stills, film and social content.
From drawing to set. Set design Elena Horn, walls and floor Rich Morrell, bar and shelves built by me.
The shoot day
Three sets. One day. A ten-minute grid.
From 08:00 to 19:00, three sets ran in parallel, with 65 minutes of contingency. We used all of it and wrapped on time. I produced and shot the stills, Kent Mathews directed the film, Hind Adib covered still life and extra video.
When I first showed the schedule on a call, people went quiet. Very German, apparently.
Lena, Sachi and Annie. Make-up Cat Parnell, hair Keiichiro Hirano, styling Issie Gibbons.
Still life and social, Hind Adib.
The bar made everyone smile. It now lives in their office.
