Benjamin Kaufmann is a London-based photographer working across skin, beauty and the close-up.
Trained as a graphic designer in Germany before completing his MA at Central Saint Martins, he has spent over 20 years on one rule: get it right in camera, with light and craft precise enough that retouching becomes optional rather than the point.
In 2026 a portrait from The Skin Project, his personal series since 2013, won Beauty at the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards.
Clients include L'Oréal, Maybelline New York, Atelier Bordelle, The Body Shop, PRAI Beauty, iiaa, Unilever, Merck and Porsche, with editorial work in Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Marie Claire, Tatler and Sunday Times Style.
His longest client relationship is now in its 15th year. He moves easily between a first-time model and a full production, working directly with brands and agencies and delivering stills, video and content packages.
He is fluent in English, German and Spanish, having lived in the UK, Germany and Spain. Alongside his commercial work, he makes documentary projects for charitable causes.
